This time we move to the city of two names, Londonderry/Derry the fourth-largest city Ireland.  Well the truth is that Irish nationalists prefer Derry and unionists Londonderry and this controversy reflects the historical differences between Catholic and Protestant communities, a wound that is necessary to be healed. Above all these circumstances Derry is now a city fighting for a different future, trying to open news spaces. In fact Derry is UK city of culture 2013 and “One of the Top Ten Cities in the World to visit in 2013” according to Lonely Planet. Here you have our vision of this amazing city. Ahh, and don’t forget to have the craic (fun) in their pubs!!

This bronze sculpture of two men reaching out to each other symbolises the spirit of reconciliation and hope for the future; it was unveiled in 1992, 20 years after Bloody Sunday.

En esta ocasión viajamos a la ciudad de los dos nombres Londerry/Derry, la cuarta ciudad más grande de Irlanda (aunque forma parte del Reino Unido). La polémica del nombre refleja la división entre las comunidades católicas y protestantes ya que los nacionalista irlandeses prefieren Derry y los unionistas protestantes Londonderry. Pero por encima de las diferencias Derry es hoy una ciudad que lucha por cambiar su cara y abrir nuevos espacios. De hecho este año Derry es la ciudad de la cultura del Reino Unido y una de las 10 ciudades para visitar según Lonely Planet.  Aquí tenéis nuestra visión de esta apasionante ciudad. Ahh y no olvidéis de buscar la diversión (the craic)  en sus pubs!!
